Lunch and a race at Keeneland

Keeneland Race Course, Lexington, KY.  A view of the walking ring where, the jockeys meet with the owners and trainers for final instructions, and mount.
This view is from the Phoenix Dining room, on the third floor.
This is not a very sharp image, but click on it, twice, 'stroll around' and notice all the various details: a jockey waiting for his mount, an artist and friends in the upper right, a child's stroller, a fan in a wheel chair, a horse and rider headed to the track, the interesting crowd, etc.
Owner Barry Irwin being interviewed by The Bloodhorse Magazine.
Jockey Alan Garcia, in the silks of Team Valor International, owner of
Lord Tarzan, 2-year-old colt by Leroidesanamaux, out of Jacaranda Jane.
And down the stretch they come! Not far to go, but he's coming from way back, and
he's catching up! He was one length behind at the finish line.
Second!  Not bad for his very first race. He'll get 'em next time!!
